ABSTRACT

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of tuina combine with needling distal points for pseudo-myopia in adolescents. Methods:A total of 64 adolescents with pseudo-myopia were allocated into a treatment group and a control group by the random number table, 32 cases in each group (64 eyes). Cases in the treatment group were treated with tuina combined with needling distal points, whereas cases in the control group were treated with the same tuina method (manipulations, treatment area and time) as those in the treatment group. The treatment was done once a day for 10 d as a treatment course. They were treated for 3 courses and there was a 2-day interval between two courses. After 3 treatment courses, all cases were re-examined for the short-term effect on uncorrected eyesight using the logarithmic visual acuity chart and on diopter using retinophotoscopy. Results:After 3 treatment courses, the visual acuity in both groups was improved. The total effective rate was 92.2% in the treatment group, versus 82.8% in the control group, showing a statistical significance (P<0.05) and indicating a better effect in the treatment group than that in the control group. Conclusion:Tuina combined with needling distal points is remarkably effective for pseudo-myopia in adolescents. Since it doesn’t cause fear (from needling local points around the eyes), it’s easy to be accepted by adolescents and worthy of further clinical application.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo explore academic significance and guiding function played by subspecialty groups of the Society of Pediatrics, Chinese Medical Association on Chinese pediatric clinical practice through a statistical analysis of the articles published by the subspecialty groups.

METHODBibliometric methods were used to analyze the number of articles, article types, total citations, highly cited articles and the distribution of citing journals.

RESULTTotally 7 156 articles were published in Chinese Journal of Pediatrics from 1993 (31) to 2012 (51), of which 187 by subspecialty groups of pediatrics (2.6%), with a total citations of 11 985. Among them, 137 articles were cited with a citation rate of 73.3% and average citations for each article was 64.1. Articles classified as clinical guidelines had been totally cited for 10 900 times with average citations of 123.86 per article. The article on Neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy diagnosis and clinical index was cited 1 791 times ranked in highly cited literatures. All the top three cited literature periodicals were core journals of pediatrics, and 10 periodicals among the top 20 were in pediatrics and the rest in other medical fields.

CONCLUSIONThe number of the articles published by the subspecialty groups of pediatrics was increasing year by year though the portion it in the total number of the articles in the journal was not large. However, the citation frequency of the articles by the subspecialty groups of pediatrics was high, making an obvious contribution to the total citations of Chinese Journal of Pediatrics. The total citation rate of clinical guideline articles and their average rate was higher than those of other articles published in this journal, which meant that this type of articles provided academic references with guiding significance for clinical practice of pediatrics and for other medical fields as well.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo investigate the association of hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotype with glycolipids iron metabolism in Gansu Han population.

METHODSThe genotypes of HCV 1b type and 2a type were detected in Gansu Han HCV carriers. The Glu, Insulin, CHOL, TG, UIBC, TRF, TIBC, SF, Serum Iron, AST, ALT, TBil, IBil, DBil, ALP, GGT were measured and compared between patients with different HCV genotypes.

RESULTSThere were 84 cases with HCV1b type and 136 cases with 2a type. There were significant differences in TG, ALT, TRF, TIBC between 1b type and 2a type genotype HCV carriers.

CONCLUSIONThe 2a type HCV carriers may be more inclined to develop hyperlipidemia and liver damage, and 1b type HCV carriers are likely to have iron metabolism defect.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore,on the basis of principles of bibliometrics, the distribution of the writers, institutions, regions and journals of the publications on HIFU and the literature amount, and to learn the situation of cross discipline study on HIFU and of the different regions where the articles on HIFU came in order to make a clear view of the characteristics and the status of co-operations in HIFU work and to determine, among them, the key authors, key institutes and key regions so that the progress of HIFU study was turned out.Method:Based on the information drawn from VIP-database,bibliometric method was used to analyze all the data on HIFU before the year of 2007.Result:833 articles were published before the year of 2007,in which 686(72.87%) were written by more than one authors, with a degree of collaboration as 2.78.The number of articles by mono-author was 312(37.45%).186 articles(22.33%) were from Chongqing, taking the first place in number.134 of the key authors published 410 papers(49.22%).10 of the institutes with more than 9 articles turned out 249 papers(29.89%).2000 saw an obvious change in the situation of publications on HIFU and the collaboration among the authors and from that year to 2006,792 papers were published with a degree of collaboration as 3.72 and the average rate of co-authership as 81.12%.Conclusion:The authors on HIFU,with a group as their key authors who were advanced in academy, productive in papers and influential on various journals in medical field, were widely distributed and had a high cooperative rate. But it was also revealed that the researchers in the field of HIFU were unevenly distributed, with the institutions in Chonqing taking the lead.
